Our club started in 1921 and we meet in the third building we have owned. We built the first, which is on the corner of 9th Street East, next to the Fire Station. The second building is now the Senior Center, located on 10th Street East. Both buildings were later sold to the County of Los Angeles. Our first building was used as a branch county library, but later replaced by the City of Palmdale's main library largely due to the efforts by the Palmdale Woman's Club and the Friends of the Palmdale Library.
We shared a clubhouse with the Moose and the Masons Lodge until we were able to buy our current clubhouse in 1962. It was at that time a golf club manufacturer so the building had to have extensive renovations. We added a full kitchen, stage, pantry, coffee room, storeroom, and a second bathroom.
Since that time we have worked on many community improvement projects and with your help, we will work on many more.
I don't know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve. -Albert Schweitzer.
